Un poco más sobre el artista:
The inspiration for Lance's drawings, oil paintings and sculptures come from nature. The natural world has been a treasure trove of inspriation for original art work for artists since the first cave painting until modern day.
"I believe in using the natural world as a model to extract ideas and material for art. It is up to the artist to strip away the noise or to emphasize key the elements that are specific to the idea represented or portrayed. They way an artist goes about this is the fingerprint of the artist. There is a certain kind of beauty and truth in nature that can rarely be produced or manufactured in the mind."
Lance was born in Thailand in 1968. His family then moved to Iran for 7 years, then to America. After graduating from high school, Lance served in the United States Army for 4 years, spending 3 of those years in Germany. After the military, Lance obtained an Electrical Engineering degree from Washington State University and worked at various high tech companies in the Seattle area.
But, the call of the artist was too strong and he wanted to expand his lifelong passion for arts. In the summer of 2005, he moved to Florence Italy and began a new chapter in life.
More recently, Lance has begun work in figure sculpting and he will begin a 3 year figure sculpting program at
the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, starting Fall 2005.
